Step One: Look at Ye Olde Character List.
Step Two: Break out your character journals and have them ask my characters questions-- Not this time! Instead of having the characters ask questions to each other, ask me questions. You or your characters. Anything that comes to mind is fair game, whether it's about a pup, a verse, the way I view this, that or the other or something different entirely if that's what you're after. Anything is fair game.
Step Three: There is still no step three.

It's very green! I have a nice green wall that my desk faces and I am quite fond of it. It has post-its up too!

They are as follows:
A salmon coloured one that has information on a credit card website
A yellowish green one that says 'abuse and buttsex' and 'rice and glitter'
A pink one that has a phone number and then 'don't yo=yo the sheep' on it
Another salmon coloured one that says 'Poke at the house'.

And my desk is cluttered and has a coffee cup, money, more post it's of various colours (yellow, green orange and pink) a box where I keep all of my lighters and matches, my CCTV (a reading device and uhm....There is a stuffed black and white cat that sits on top of it and also a hand puppet of Cthulhu with a pin that reads 'It's not tentacle rape, it's tentacle love'.

....Uhm yeah. My world is a fun one.

They are both AIM needs that will one day be created. The first sums up me in three words when it comes to a good friend of mine and the second is from a well-loved web comic.

Yes, yes it is.

You may not like the whole package, you might not even want to be associated with it at all, but everything you learn from it is important. It allows you to move forward instead of being stuck in a rut, repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

That is... a sound point. Do you feel that there is some... that potentially, there is some event or disaster that could happen that would not be worth the learning? Where a rut or some alternative, slow method might be preferable?

Maybe but how do you know that the slow method would be what you get? Maybe you make that same mistake, in that same way all over again and you find yourself in the same place. Do you think it's worth chancing that or should you let yourself learn, move on and, if you make mistakes, have them at least be new ones rather than something you've already done.

Let's see. Some of these may not be considered proper meta and as usual, you really don't have to answer them ALL, but.

-What's the five to ten fics you are proudest of having written?
-What's the five to ten threads you are proudest of having done? (This is what YOU'RE proud of, so things you're happy with YOUR part of, specifically.)
-Tell me about the characters you're territorial about and why.
-Any stories you'd love to write but know you're never going to be able to? (And can I try to enable you into them if I like them enough? >>)
-Any threads you'd love to do but never got the chance to, for whatever reason?
-What verses or pups do you wish people asked about more, so you got the chance to explain them? And feel free to throw in the longest, most detailed explination you feel like for that verse/pup.
-When you do these sorts of memes, especially the in-character memes, what's one thing you'd love to be asked, for yourself or for a pup, but has never come up?

This is not meta but it came to mind and I can't seem to help myself from asking:
-There are five stories that are going to be written for you. You decide the author (published or not) and you give them instructions, however vauge or complex you'd like (length, plot, characters, setting, whatever you want to make them include); they will write you that story, following your instructions exactly. You can use the same writer more than once. What are the five stories you commission?

As for specific pups/verses... I can't think of anything, unless you want me to list off some people I'd like to see you do the "five things I keep in mind" for.

<3 I reserve the right to return later with follow-up/more questions. >>

The People At Large Section
These (http://community.livejournal.com/beyondtherift/45037.html) three (http://community.livejournal.com/beyondtherift/47844.html?thread=1787876#t1787876) threads (http://community.livejournal.com/beyondtherift/79691.html?thread=2868043#t2868043) are all getting mentioned together because when I was reading them, I was reminded why I loved Ripley. I did stuff with him that I never got the chance to do with other people. I mean I know that can be said on some level with everyone but...I don't know. Reading these three made me really want to play him against someone who isn't Martha and I might dust him off, rework him a little and properly pay him one day again.

Lucy and the Master meeting. (http://alittleundone.livejournal.com/520.html) - I'd never gotten a chance to play Lucy in her own proper universe and this was actually the first time. Plus y'know how much I love playing her and just...I don't know. I was just pleased with her.

Romana and the Master (http://community.livejournal.com/outsideinn/176790.html?thread=7225750#t7225750b) I wanted one thread with Romana on here because I am generally proud of her. This one isn't bad and god, I love playing her against Masters, it just pleases me so very much.

Zagreus (http://community.livejournal.com/shifting_suns/925.html) I....kind of love playing him, I really do. He's one I need to play more and I'm proud of this because while I wanted to play him up until that point, I was always scared to. No idea what changed my mind but I'm glad I came around.

Theta and Koschei (http://blue-box.insanejournal.com/1236.html?thread=29140#t29140) I wanted a thread with them too, if noting else because damnit, I like my Theta, I like him a lot and this thread is just pleasing.

The You Section
Romana, Eight and Theta when they're thrown at Koschei (http://community.livejournal.com/shifting_suns/6215.html) I think you knew I was proud of these threads though.

Degree: The Fobwatching (http://moldedoffaults.livejournal.com/2021.html) (Shush, I don't care if this is a thread. it's close enough.) I am insanely proud of this, I really am. I love them, I love the way this turned out and just...Yes. I am proud.

The Doctor and the Master (http://asylums.insanejournal.com/mendingthesound/467.html?thread=723#t723) This thread makes me happy for a few different reasons one of which is that I just like reading the way our Doctor and Master interact. I...keep meaning to give more explanations for why I pick the threads I do but my brain is kind of sputtering and dying so bear with me? <3

Romana and the Master and Ten (http://asylums.insanejournal.com/mendingthesound/467.html?thread=1235#t1235) This goes on here because I fucking love Romana. I love her and I love her interacting with the Master and yes, I know i put another one up here but this is the you section, damnit and I...liked this one. I liked it a lot and I'm glad we have verses with them interacting even if they're semi-crack.

TennantMaster and SimmDoctor (http://drawingwilds.insanejournal.com/3311.html?thread=23023#t23023) ...This needs no explanation either.

I'm pretty sure there were a few other threads that I wanted to put up here but a lot of them were fairly recent. I tried to stray away from them when I could almost because I felt like it was cheating. Please don't ask me why, my brain in semi-dysfunctional.

[identity profile] theformofstars.livejournal.com
2009-05-22 06:48 am UTC (link)
Also, I fel I should state that neither of these lists (nor the RP list) are in any particular order.

Fics I am proud of (General)
BreakdownEight! (http://mutemonologues.livejournal.com/1738.html#cutid1) I'm just really taken by the image that this fic gives me, I really am. I had it in my head for a while before I wrote it and it's still one that comes to my head every once and a while.

Feverdream fic (http://mutemonologues.livejournal.com/6480.html) This is another one where, although I'm not actually sure why I like it so much, I really do. I think a part of it is because I wrote it at your hose while your mum was coming in and out. I...don't normally write like that. You know me, you know my general writing space, so to have something come out that I like in an environment that is different is something that I'm really proud of.

Reid when he comes back from the Inn and into his own timeline (http://words-fall.livejournal.com/23783.html#cutid1) I wasn't expecting to like this fic as much as I did upon reading it, I really wasn't. I like how it came out, I like that I wrote it (I was always really entranced with the idea of someone coming back from the Inn to a life that..wasn't quite as nice as what the had there) and just....Yeah, I like this one.

Paulfic (From Rent) (http://words-fall.livejournal.com/20997.html#cutid1) So, I really like the first half of this. I mean I'm pretty content with all of it but I really like the first half and how I structured it. That's something I noticed wile doing this, but he way. I really enjoyed some of the ways I structured fic, even if the execution wasn't my favourite (Ha, I guess that's what I get for saying it so often when it comes to other people).

And last but not least, an FE fic. (http://words-fall.livejournal.com/2820.html#cutid1) This is one where I really like the structure. I like the fic itself but the structure is pleasing and...and y'know? I even like the fic too. I mean I didn't dislike it bu I wasn't too sure until I mulled over it a little and yes, I enjoy it.

Fics I am proud of (Sparta Editon):

Caraway telling stories (http://theformofstars.livejournal.com/32929.html?thread=271009#t271009) - I am proud of this but even more than that, I'd like to know the stories he's telling. I'm really very taken with the idea of Caraway and stories, both the ones he makes up and the ones he would pick to read. One day I want to write a fic where he tells each of the other spices a story just to see what they would be.

Eight, Romana and treason (http://theformofstars.livejournal.com/36106.html?thread=259338#t259338) I fucking love writing in the Time War. Seriously, I might just have a Time War kink especially when I can involve Romana. I am damn pleased with this to the point where I'd love to clean it up and maybe even show it off.

Cowslip and graveyards (http://theformofstars.livejournal.com/36106.html?thread=261386#t261386) Okay, I don't get a chance to do it very often but I love getting to poke at the Spices and show how...Not quite right they are. Not exactly human they are. It's easiest to do it with Cowslip if only because he's the newest one there and this...I don't know, there's something about this fic that I'm just really content with and I'm glad I actually wrote it.

RomanaLucy (http://mutemonologues.livejournal.com/10060.html#cutid1) Honestly? I could not tell you what makes me as proud of this fic as I am but feel the same about this one as I do about the one with Romana and Eight. It makes me happy and I wanna poke at those two one day in a more serious fashion (not that I don't adore the crack and divorce threads, of course.)

Theta going to William (http://mutemonologues.livejournal.com/9175.html#cutid1) Once again, I could not tell you why I am pleased with this one, I just...am. It makes me smile and I'm happy I wrote it.

FobwatchedTheta (http://mutemonologues.livejournal.com/9175.html#cutid1) I just like this one, plain and simple. I like it because it gave me a little better idea of what I was doing with him and, I don't know. There's just something appealing about it to me.

....You know what was really nice about doing this? There were still more fics I was proud of. That doesn't normally happen when I write as steadily as I have this month and its really nice.
